Location
Choose a permitted open area
Use fireworks outdoors, away from dry grass, parked vehicles, buildings, trees and overhead wires.

Distance
Keep everyone at a safe distance
Light one firework at a time and keep observers well away from the lighting and landing area.

Supervision
Keep a responsible adult present
Children must never handle or light fireworks without continuous responsible adult supervision.

Preparation
Keep fire-safety supplies ready
Place clean water and dry sand nearby before lighting the first firework.

Handling
Never hold non-handheld products
Place the firework on stable ground, ignite it from the side and move away without delay.

Misfires
Do not relight failed fireworks
Wait at least 15 to 20 minutes before approaching, then soak the firework thoroughly in water.

Storage
Store safely away from heat
Keep unused fireworks in a cool, dry place away from flames, lamps, cooking areas and electrical sources.
